Accessibility Statement
CIREN's commitment to making this website usable for all visitors, including those with disabilities.
The Centro Internacional de Restauración Neurológica (CIREN) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.
Features We Support
- Semantic HTML structure and descriptive headings for screen reader navigation.
- Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements.
- Alt text and descriptive labels for meaningful images.
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background in our design system.
- Responsive layout that adapts to desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes.
- Support for right-to-left (RTL) languages, including Arabic.
- Resizable text that remains readable when browser font size is increased.
Multilingual Access
Content is available in multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, and Arabic. RTL layout is supported for Arabic-speaking visitors.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet fully conform:
- Some third-party images may lack complete alternative text.
- Certain uploaded PDF documents may not be fully screen-reader compatible.
- Video and audio content, where present, may not always include captions or transcripts.
We are actively working to address these limitations.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at info@theciren.org and we will make every reasonable effort to address it.
In-Person Accessibility
CIREN's facilities in Havana include accessibility features for patients with reduced mobility. International patients with specific accessibility needs are encouraged to discuss them with the Coordination Desk when scheduling their visit, so appropriate arrangements can be made.
